"Transatlantic: A Compelling WWII Drama with Artistic Flair"
Netflix's new limited series "Transatlantic" is a Casablanca-esque drama set in 1940 Marseilles, following Americans and others trying to make a difference in the French port city during World War II. The show follows trust fund baby Mary Jayne, who funds journalist Varian Fry's Emergency Rescue Committee, dedicated to getting refugees out of Europe. The show is co-created by Anna Winger, known for "Unorthodox" and "Deutschland 83/86/89," and features occasional moments of levity amidst the dark circumstances.
