"Desperate Search for Missing People in Mexico's Flooded Downtown"
Two people are missing after their vehicle was swept away by floodwaters from the Swift River in Mexico, Maine. The driver attempted to cross the Red Bridge into Rumford but was unsuccessful, resulting in the vehicle being swept into the river. Three people were able to escape, but two remain missing. More than 5 inches of rain fell in the area, causing the confluence of the Swift and Androscoggin rivers to flood downtown Mexico. Businesses were submerged, and residents had to be rescued from their homes. The search for the missing individuals is ongoing.
