
Rich Hill leads Pirates to series sweep over Cardinals.
The Pittsburgh Pirates swept the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series, with a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Rich Hill pitched six scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing only one run in the seventh. The Cardinals finished the series hitless in their past 14 at-bats with a runner in scoring position. The Pirates' closer David Bednar secured his 13th save of the season. The Cardinals remain in last place in the NL Central.
