"UCI Suspends Cynisca Cycling Team for Deceptive Rider Swap"
The American women's cycling team Cynisca has been punished by the International Cycling Union for attempting to deceive organizers by having a mechanic wear a rider's clothes and mask to sign an entry list at an international race in Belgium. The team's main perpetrator, Danny Van Haute, has been banned from the sport until the end of 2025, while mechanic Moira Barrett is banned through August. Cynisca was fined and suspended from its next international race, and the team and staff have the option to appeal the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
