'Union Dispute Forces Venue Change for 'Priscilla' L.A. Premiere'
The LA premiere of the film "Priscilla" has been moved from the American Legion Theater due to an ongoing labor dispute with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). The theater has been embroiled in financial tensions and allegations of sexual assault, leading to a strike by IATSE Local 33. Distributor A24 decided to relocate the premiere to another venue after becoming aware of the labor fight. The Legion Theater had previously been a popular venue for film festivals and screenings.
