Asus ROG Ally's $700 Price Tag Poses Threat to Steam Deck.

A leak suggests that the Asus ROG Ally model with the AMD Z1 Extreme chip, 16GB RAM, and a 512 SSD will retail at $700, making it a serious competitor to the Steam Deck. The ROG Ally will have an IPS screen shielded by Gorilla Glass DXC, the ability to upgrade the M.2 2230 SSD by unscrewing only one screw, and will charge from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. Asus will announce more information about the ROG Ally on May 11.

The higher-end Asus ROG Ally, a Steam Deck-like handheld gaming PC, will reportedly cost just $699.99 with an AMD Z1 Extreme chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. This is just $51 more than a 512GB Steam Deck. The ROG Ally is 11.02 inches wide, 4.37 inches tall, 0.83 inches deep, and weighs 608 grams. It has an IPS screen protected by Gorilla Glass DXC and can charge from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes using a bundled 65W USB-C power brick.
