Amateur Radio Enthusiasts Track Voyager 1's Interstellar Signals
Amateur radio operators at the Dwingeloo Radio Observatory in the Netherlands successfully detected signals from Voyager 1, the furthest manmade object from Earth. This achievement required mounting a new antenna and using orbital predictions to account for the Doppler shift, as the observatory's dish was not originally designed for such frequencies. This feat is notable as only a few telescopes worldwide have managed to receive Voyager 1's faint signals, typically handled by the Deep Space Network.
