Concrete Apartment Blends with Nature in Rural Thailand
Architecture studio All(zone) has designed Under the Rain Trees, an apartment building in rural Thailand that seamlessly blends into the natural landscape. The building features five curved wings that fan out towards the surrounding forest, with four wings housing private apartments and one wing serving as a shared living space. Crafted from concrete and elevated on stilts, the design incorporates sleek glass walls and references tropical modernism. The building's form and enclosure gradually dissolve, transitioning from solid masses to an open platform surrounded by leaves. Each apartment is designed as a separate boxed dwelling, maximizing natural light and views across the river's edge.
