Florida Woman Attacked by 9-Foot Alligator While Snorkeling
A Florida woman was snorkeling with a friend at Alexander Springs Recreation Area when a 9-foot alligator attacked her, biting her forehead. A photographer captured photos of the aftermath, showing the alligator lurking nearby. The woman, Marissa Carr, believes wearing a full-face snorkel mask may have saved her from more serious injuries. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed the incident and removed the alligator. This is the second alligator incident in the area within a week. Carr does not blame the alligator and plans to continue snorkeling. Wildlife officials advise keeping a safe distance from alligators, not feeding them, and contacting the FWC's nuisance alligator hotline if concerned.
