The Role of "Dad Mode" in Sanditon's Season 3 Episode 5.
In the penultimate episode of Sanditon, Alexander Colbourne turns to Charlotte Heywood in his hour of need. His niece, Augusta Markham, has run away with Edward Denham, and Colbourne requests that Charlotte accompany him on the pursuit. Sanditon star Rose Williams revealed that seeing Colbourne in “dad mode” in this episode was what convinced Charlotte she had to finally call off her engagement to Ralph to be with the man she truly loved. Ben Lloyd-Hughes explained that Charlotte is the only person who could have unlocked that aspect of Colbourne’s personality.
