Diageo announces retirement of CEO Ivan Menezes and appointment of Debra Crew as successor.
Diageo, the world's fourth-largest alcoholic drinks company, has appointed its first female CEO, Debra Crew, who will take over from Ivan Menezes on July 1. Crew's appointment means women will make up more than 50% of Diageo's executive committee. Menezes is stepping down after a successful tenure during which the company's share price almost doubled. Diageo is the largest UK-listed company led by a woman and the fifth-largest alcoholic drinks company by market value.
