Marathon World Record Holder Ruth Chepngetich Suspended for Doping
Women’s marathon world record-holder Ruth Chepngetich has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for the banned substance Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, during a doping test. The AIU announced her suspension and investigation, with Chepngetich having the right to a hearing. She previously set a record at the Chicago Marathon and is a three-time winner of the event.
