Fatal Crash on I-680: 3 Dead, 5 Injured as SUV Hits Tree
The number of fatalities in a crash on southbound 680 near Pleasanton has risen to three, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver of a Honda Pilot reported a blowout and veered to the left, causing the vehicle to lose control and cross all lanes before hitting a tree on the right shoulder. Two passengers died at the scene, while two infants in the back seat sustained minor injuries. One of the other passengers later succumbed to her injuries, and another was treated for a broken pelvis. The crash is still under investigation.
