Toyota Recalls 1 Million Vehicles for Airbag Issues
Toyota is recalling 1 million vehicles, including Toyota and Lexus models from 2020 to 2022, due to a defect that could prevent airbags from deploying. The recall is prompted by improperly manufactured sensors in the front passenger seat, which may short circuit and fail to determine the occupant's weight, potentially leading to non-deployment of airbags in certain crashes. Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect and replace the sensors if necessary, with no cost to owners. Affected customers will be notified by February 2024.
