The Reality of AI Usage and Fear
A recent poll of over 2,000 US adults conducted by The Verge, Vox Media’s Insights and Research team, and The Circus, found that while AI use is dominated by Millennials and Gen Z, only 1 in 3 people have tried dedicated AI services. However, people have high expectations for AI’s impact on society, with nearly three-quarters of respondents saying AI will have a large or moderate impact. The main fuel for the recent boom is generative AI, with search, brainstorming, and art dominating current AI use. Concerns about AI include misinformation, job loss, and safety threats.
