
Negro Leagues Museum to Construct New $25 Million Campus at Historic 18th and Vine Site
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is set to build a new 30,000-square-foot facility at the historic 18th & Vine in Kansas City, where Negro Leagues baseball was born. The new state-of-the-art facility will be built adjacent to the Buck O’Neil Education and Research Center, which will now be housed in the former Paseo YMCA. Bank of America has pledged $1 million in support of the new construction of the museum, which is estimated to cost around $25 million. The privately funded, non-profit organization aims to become an institution that documents and substantiates the amazing piece of baseball and American history, while also fortifying into one of this nation’s greatest social justice, civil right institutions.
