L'Oréal, the French beauty giant, is set to acquire Australian luxury skin and body care brand Aesop in a $2.5 billion deal, marking its largest acquisition of another brand on record. The sale was announced by Aesop's parent company, Natura & Co, which also owns The Body Shop and Avon. Aesop's sales have skyrocketed nearly 20 times since Natura picked up a 65% stake in the company in 2012. The deal is expected to close in Q3 2022.

The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2023, subject to regulatory approvals.
