NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of two actively forming stars, known as Herbig-Haro 46/47, using its powerful infrared sensors. The image reveals a salmon-colored smear at the center, representing the area where the stars are located. The image also shows conical regions of darkness, which are shadows of a gassy, dusty disk surrounding the stars. Two large "lobes" on either side of the disk, made up of material ejected by the stars, are also visible. The image provides valuable insights into star formation and marks the most detailed portrait of these stars to date.
