Security confrontation ends Detroit synagogue attack as suspect killed by guards
A suspect in an attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield was killed after being confronted by synagogue security when he rammed a vehicle into the building. A security guard was injured and hospitalized but expected to recover; no students or staff were harmed. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, West Bloomfield Police, Oakland County Sheriff, and Michigan State Police, responded as area residents were asked to shelter in place and nearby schools went into secure mode. Governors and attorneys general condemned antisemitism as the investigation continues.
