Taylor Lewan takes legal action against Dr. James Andrews over ACL surgery.
Taylor Lewan, a three-time Pro Bowl left tackle, is suing Dr. James Andrews and others for medical malpractice, claiming that the surgery to repair his torn right ACL in October 2020 left him with "severe and permanent" damage, cutting his NFL career short. The lawsuit accuses Andrews of negligence for not using a specific graft, injuring surrounding knee cartilage, not repairing the medial meniscus, failing to supervise residents and fellows, and failing to provide proper care after surgery. Lewan is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 plus costs, interest, and other relief decided by the court.
