
Cannes' 'The Idol' shocks with explicit content and star-studded cast.
The world premiere of Sam Levinson's HBO original drama series The Idol, starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye, took place at the Cannes Film Festival. Other guests who attended the event included BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim, Troye Sivan, Ashley Levinson, Rachel Sennott, Sophie Mudd, Moses Sumney, Hari Nef, Julia Fox, Travis Scott, Stella Maxwell, and more. The Idol focuses on Jocelyn (Depp), an aspiring pop idol who begins a complex relationship with Tedros (Tesfaye), a self-help guru and the head of a contemporary cult. The series also stars Troye Sivan and debuts on HBO on June 4.
