
Nigeria mourns as over 100 die in boat tragedy.
A boat carrying about 300 people, mostly wedding guests, capsized on the Niger River in northern Nigeria, killing at least 106 people, including children. As of Thursday, 144 people have been rescued and dozens remain missing. Recovery efforts are ongoing. The victims were returning from a wedding ceremony in Niger state when the accident occurred. Kwara Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq expressed condolences and plans to set up a group overseeing water transportation in the state.
