AMD's A620 chipset poses challenges for budget Ryzen 7000 builds.
AMD's new A620 chipset will bring down the prices of AM5-based motherboards to around $85, making it easier to build budget Ryzen 7000 PCs. However, the A620 chipset lacks support for PCIe 5.0, CPU overclocking, and Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) or Curve Optimizer features. It also supports fewer USB ports and uses PCIe 3.0 speeds for additional SSDs. The A620 chipset will be best for those who want to use a regular Ryzen 7600, 7700, or 7900 processor without much tweaking. ASRock has already released two A620 motherboards, and more are expected from other manufacturers.
