Ukraine's 82nd Brigade Joins Counteroffensive, Retakes Village from Russian Forces
Ukraine's 82nd Air Assault Brigade, equipped with Marder and Stryker fighting vehicles and Challenger 2 tanks, has joined the counteroffensive in southern Ukraine. While their deployment boosts Ukrainian firepower, the concern is that when the brigade eventually pulls back for rest and repairs, there may not be equally powerful replacements, potentially causing a loss of momentum. The concentration of marine forces along the Mokri Yaly River has been successful in liberating settlements, but they too will need rest, and it's unclear which forces can fill in for them. The surge of air-assault troops around Robotyne could lead to rapid gains for Ukraine, but if the Russians hold their ground and the surge brigades rotate off without replacement, they may eventually strike back.
