Tesla Expands Battery Cell Production in California and Nevada
Tesla is leasing a 210,000+ square-foot manufacturing facility in Fremont, California, to support the production of its 4680 cell technology. The building, owned by Prologis, was initially intended for Applied Materials, but the company pulled out of its lease. The new facility is located just three miles from Tesla's Fremont Factory and across the street from its Kato Road facility, which is responsible for 4680 cell production. Tesla plans to bring the Cybertruck to production later this year and begin delivering the vehicles in Q3 with a dedicated event.
