After a decade of development, the 3dSen emulator has been officially released, allowing users to play NES games in 3D with features like quick save/load, rollback, customizable camera controls, and 3D model export, supporting over 100 games. The software is available on Steam.
Google has unveiled Genie 2, an AI tool capable of generating fully playable 3D game worlds from a single image prompt. This tool, which builds on its predecessor's 2D capabilities, allows for rapid prototyping by creating interactive environments complete with NPCs, physics, and animations. While still in early development, Genie 2 aims to advance AI research towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by training AI models in diverse environments.
