Wendy's to Shutter Hundreds of Stores in 2026, NH Outlets May Be Affected
Wendy's plans to shutter about 5-6% of its roughly 5,969 locations nationwide—around 360 stores—in the first half of 2026, following 28 closures in late 2025 and 240 closures in 2024. The company says closing underperforming units helps franchisees focus on higher-potential sites while it pursues menu and marketing improvements. New Hampshire currently has 23 Wendy's locations that could be affected.
