Disney's Massive Layoffs Hit Multiple Divisions, Including ESPN and News Teams.
As part of Disney's second round of layoffs, the digital content division 20th Digital Studio has been dissolved, and its EVP David Worthen Brooks will transition into a first-look deal with Hulu as an independent producer. The official fan club for the Walt Disney Co, D23, was also hit by layoffs, with some sources indicating that as much as a quarter of the staff or more was affected amid speculation that the division may be restructured. Jerrell Jimerson, Chief Product Officer for Disney Streaming, Disney+, Star+, and Hulu, is also departing as part of the layoffs.
