Sony Eyes Fresh Charlie’s Angels Reboot, Hiring Pete Chiarelli to Write
Sony Pictures is developing a new feature version of Charlie’s Angels with Pete Chiarelli tapped to pen the screenplay. The project is in early development at the studio, aiming to revive the franchise that began as a 1970s TV crime drama and later spawned blockbuster films. Past relaunch attempts, including Elizabeth Banks’ 2019 movie, underperformed, but Sony is pursuing a new take featuring a trio of crime-fighting women. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news; Sony had no comment.
