"Android 14: From Ultra HDR Photos to Improved Privacy Features"
Google's upcoming Android 14 update will introduce "Ultra HDR" mode, which captures 10-bit high dynamic range (HDR) photos in JPEG format, allowing for more vibrant colors and better contrast. The new format is backward compatible with standard dynamic range (SDR) monitors and won't require heavy processing to decode. Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon processor will be able to handle the new format, and Pixel's Tensor chip will also likely be compatible. The Android 14 beta is currently available for Pixel phones, with the final release expected in the early fall.
