Dutch court rules gold treasures belong to Ukraine, not Crimea.

The Dutch Supreme Court has ruled that ancient Crimean gold artefacts, including a solid gold Scythian helmet and a golden neck ornament, on loan to Amsterdam's Allard Pierson museum should be returned to Ukraine, not to Crimea which Russia annexed in 2014. The decision ends a long and bitter tussle over the treasures, with both Ukraine and the museums in the now Russian-controlled territory claiming rights to the artefacts. The museums argued that the terms of their loan had been violated, while Ukraine argued the works are part of its heritage and must be kept safe during its conflict with Russia.
