Deadly Stampede at Ramadan Charity Event in Yemen's Capital

At least 78 people have died and many others injured in a crush at a school in Sanaa, Yemen, during a charity distribution for Ramadan. The Houthi rebels, who have controlled the city since 2015, were responsible for the distribution and have detained those responsible. The incident occurred due to the "random distribution" of funds without coordination with local officials, according to the interior ministry. The event happened during the final days of Ramadan, and the head of the Houthi supreme evolutionary committee blamed the country's humanitarian crisis for the tragedy.
