Deadly Attack Near Tunisia's Oldest Synagogue Leaves Multiple Casualties.

Two visitors and a security guard were killed in an attack near the Ghriba Synagogue on Tunisia's Djerba island. The attacker, who was affiliated with Tunisia's National Guard naval centre, was shot dead by security forces. The annual pilgrimage to the synagogue, which draws hundreds of Jews from Europe and Israel, had resumed this year after a two-year suspension due to the pandemic. Tunisia has no diplomatic ties with Israel, but Israelis are allowed entry to the country as part of organised tours for the pilgrimage.
