A farmer in southern Australia captured a spotted-tailed quoll, a creature considered locally extinct for over 130 years, while trying to protect his chickens. The spotted-tailed quoll, also known as the tiger quoll, is an endangered marsupial and the largest native carnivore left on the Australian mainland. Wildlife officials set up traps and cameras to study the rediscovered quoll species and determine if there are more quolls in the area.
