Tracking New Tropical Disturbance East of Cindy Remnants: Potential for Development near Bermuda

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance located east of the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy, which dissipated earlier this week. The disturbance, currently south-southeast of Bermuda, has the potential to develop into a tropical depression, although the chances are currently low. The remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy are not expected to reform. The return of El Niño could bring a wetter second half of the year to Louisiana and a reduced risk of hurricanes. The first cyclone of the 2023 hurricane season hit in January, before the official start of the season.
