Record-breaking heatwave hits Beijing with hottest June day in 60 years.

Beijing issued a red warning, the highest on the scale, as temperatures hit a new record of 41.1 degrees Celsius, the hottest-ever June day since detailed records began in 1961. Other weather stations in the city recorded even higher temperatures, making it the hottest place in the country. Red heat warnings were also issued in other northern China cities, including Tianjin. The heat wave comes as other Asian countries are experiencing record temperatures.
