Nicolas Puech, a descendant of the founder of luxury goods company Hermes, is reportedly seeking to adopt his middle-aged gardener and leave him at least half of his €12 billion fortune, instead of bequeathing it to the Isocrates Foundation. The foundation, which supports public interest journalism and civil society organizations, is contesting the cancellation of the inheritance contract, stating that it is void and unfounded. Puech owns 5.7% of Hermes and his stake is worth around €12 billion. The Hermes family is ranked as the world's third wealthiest.
