American tourists will not have to pay Europe's new entrance fee until 2025 as the implementation of the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) has been delayed. The new regulations will require visitors from 60 countries, including the US, UK, and Canada, to obtain pre-approval and pay a fee of about $8. Applicants will need to provide personal information and trip details. Once approved, the authorization is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, allowing multiple short-term stays in participating European countries. ETIAS is modeled after the US ESTA program.
