China's Visa-Free Entry Initiative to Boost European Tourism

China will allow citizens of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia to enter the country visa-free for up to 15 days starting from 1 December. The trial program aims to boost business and tourism and will be in effect for one year. China's strict pandemic measures had previously discouraged international travel, but with the lifting of restrictions, the country is seeking to attract visitors. The move comes as interest in China as a tourist destination among Europeans has surged, with a significant increase in bookings compared to previous years. China is also investing in tourism infrastructure and promoting cultural attractions to further encourage inbound tourism.
