Deadly Dorm Fire in Guyana: Teen Suspect Faces Charges.

The first funeral for one of the 18 students and one caretaker who died in a fire at a boarding school in Mahdia, Guyana, was held yesterday. Police believe the fire was started by a student who became enraged when her mobile phone was confiscated. The teenage suspect is being treated in hospital and has admitted to nothing. Six of the victims have been identified by relatives, while the other 13 bodies were burnt beyond recognition and will require DNA testing. Surviving students have been interviewed and evidence gathered at the scene is being forwarded to prosecutors.
