International Outrage: Pope Francis and Muslim Nations Condemn Quran Burning in Sweden

Pope Francis has expressed "anger and disgust" over the desecration of a copy of the Qur'an outside a mosque in Sweden, condemning the act and rejecting the notion of permitting such actions under the guise of freedom of speech. The incident, authorized and protected by Swedish police, drew widespread anger from Muslims worldwide. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called for collective measures to prevent future incidents of Qur'an desecration, prompting Sweden to condemn the act as Islamophobic. This is not the first time Sweden has allowed Qur'an burning, with a previous incident occurring in January.
