Cardinals Seek Clarification from Pope Francis Before Synod on Synodality

Five cardinals have submitted a set of questions, known as "dubia," to Pope Francis ahead of the Synod on Synodality, seeking clarification on topics including doctrinal development, same-sex unions, the authority of the Synod, women's ordination, and sacramental absolution. The cardinals had previously submitted a version of the dubia in July and received a response from the Pope, but they claim that his answers did not resolve their doubts. They have now rephrased the questions to elicit "yes" or "no" responses and are awaiting a reply.
