Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin has arrived in South Sudan for a 4-day visit to show solidarity with the disaster-struck region of Malakal and reaffirm the nation's efforts towards peace. The main purpose of his visit is to assess the situation in Malakal and work towards peace, following Pope Francis' call for unity and togetherness. Cardinal Parolin's visit includes meetings with government officials, celebrating Mass, and engaging with various communities and organizations. Prior to his visit to South Sudan, Cardinal Parolin concluded a visit to Angola, where he presided over the episcopal ordination of Archbishop Penemote.
