South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has begun his three-day state visit to Vietnam, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations through a summit with his Vietnamese counterpart and events to boost economic and cultural partnerships. Yoon emphasized the "remarkable progress" made by the two countries over the last 30 years since establishing diplomatic ties and is expected to further upgrade the existing comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. South Korea is the largest investor in Vietnam, with major conglomerates such as Samsung, LG, SK, Hyundai, and Lotte present.
