Parliament Winter Session 2023: Four accused sent to police custody, 15 MPs suspended

Four accused arrested for breaching Parliament security have been sent to seven-day police custody by a Delhi court. The accused have been charged under the anti-terror law UAPA and various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Eight security personnel have been suspended for the security breach. The Rajya Sabha has passed a motion to refer the conduct of suspended TMC MP Derek O'Brien to the Committee of Privileges. Opposition MPs have been suspended for unruly conduct. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the sixth accused, who is on the run. The accused have claimed innocence and appealed for a fair investigation.
