Navalny's Health Deteriorating, Daughter Speaks Out

Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, and their daughter attended the White House Correspondents' Association dinner with President Joe Biden and leading journalists. Navalny, one of Putin's most vehement critics, was poisoned by Russian authorities in 2020 and sentenced to nine years in prison in March 2022. The dinner had a more serious tone this year, with a focus on press freedom and American journalists detained abroad. Biden met privately with the parents of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who has been imprisoned in Russia since March, and promised to work to bring him and other detained Americans home.
