Kyiv rejects Russian proposal to extend grain deal.

Ukraine has criticized Russia's proposal to extend the grain export deal for only 60 days, stating that it contradicts the documents signed by guarantors Turkey and the United Nations. The deal, which allows Ukraine to ship food and fertiliser from three of its Black Sea ports, was brokered by the UN and Turkey in July 2021 to help alleviate rising global food prices. The current 120-day extension expires on March 18, and Moscow has been frustrated that a parallel deal to allow exports of Russian food and fertiliser has not been successful.
