Iran summons Iraqi envoy over alleged support for 'terrorist groups'

Iran has summoned the Iraqi ambassador to Tehran to protest against the presence of "terrorist groups" in the Iraqi Kurdish region, which it says goes against a security agreement signed last month. Though the groups were not named, they are believed to be Kurdish armed groups, including the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan. Iran has accused these groups of conducting "terrorist" activities and smuggling weapons into the country through neighbouring Iraq's Kurdish region. Tehran has called on Baghdad to disarm the groups and prevent Iraqi soil from being used against Iran.
