India expresses concern to Canada over Sikh protesters.

India has summoned Canada's High Commissioner to express concern over Sikh protesters in Canada who breached the security of India's diplomatic mission and consulates. The protesters were demanding an independent Sikh state, a long-standing issue that has recently resurfaced. Canada has the highest population of Sikhs outside of India's Punjab state. India has called on the Canadian government to ensure the safety of its diplomats and security of its diplomatic premises. Indian police have also launched a hunt for a Sikh preacher who has revived talk of an independent Sikh homeland and opened an investigation into a protest at its High Commission in London.
