"India emphasizes peaceful resolution of border dispute with China while strengthening defence ties with Russia"

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has emphasized the need to resolve all border issues with China through existing bilateral agreements and commitments during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu in New Delhi. The meeting took place amid ongoing tensions over a border dispute in the Himalayas. Li was in India to attend a defense ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) along with counterparts from Russia and Central Asian nations.
